I know there can be a significant amount of variance in this entities but maybe iron could help? Yea I know that's usually a fae thing in my personal experience I have used a iron chain to at least mild success in restricting such a thing, maybe the overall smell of iron being in the air as well but idk about that one. Although I will mention that I do practice a form of the occult and did amateurishly  "enchant" so per say for that purpose so it might of been more due to that. Only really loose theories of mine I'll admit, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents to see both if anyone has had any similar examples and maybe help on the off chance they are. Hopefully you find what your looking for though!
